Avicii, la lettera d’addio ai fan | “Non suonerò più dal vivo”

Oggi, venerdì 20 aprile 2018, il dj e produttore musicale svedese Avicii è morto all’età di 28 anni (qui le ultime notizie). In questo articolo abbiamo tracciato un profilo di colui che era diventato il dj più pagato al mondo mentre qui abbiamo raccolto alcuni tra i suoi 5 brani più famosi.

Nel 2016 Avicii si era ritirato dalla scena musicale a causa di motivi di salute, relativi all’abuso di alcol.  Il 29 marzo 2016scrisse una lettera d’addio ai tour dal vivo, pubblicata sul suo sito ufficiale, per ringraziare i fan e annunciare che avrebbe temporaneamente sospeso i concerti e le esibizioni live. “Ciao mondo,

grazie per avermi permesso di raggiungere così tanti sogni. Sarò grato per sempre per aver potuto vivere e ottenere tutto ciò che ho grazie all’aiuto del team intorno a me e dei miei fan.

Grazie a tutti i miei seguaci nel music business per aver iniziato un nuovo movimento che ha travolto il mondo, e sono stato fortunato a starci nel mezzo.

Grazie ai miei partner in questi anni che hanno creduto in quello che ho creato e hanno voluto far crescere il mio lavoro fino a raggiungere una vera presenza globale.

Prima di tutto grazie a mio fratello e partner Ash: è stato un periodo veramente incredibile e tutto ciò è stato reso possibile grazie ai nostri sforzi collaborativi, yin e yang, fratello e fratello, manager e artista. Avrò sempre nel cuore questo pezzo di strada con te, non importa dove ci porterà da qui. Potrei scrivere di più ma il nostro viaggio è di là da finire.

Grazie a tutti alla At Night, un grazie speciale a tutti quelli che hanno fatto parte del team dal primo giorno perché senza il vostro lavoro non sarei stato qui.

Grazie Robb Harker, Malik Adunni, David Brady, Andrew Mckeough, Rob Woo e Felix Alfonzo – mi avete aiutato a capire come si fa un tour nel modo più funzionale possibile per un ragazzo della mia età e la mia strada sarebbe stata molto più buia senza il vostro supporto personale in un momento cruciale.

Grazie Semi Baddredine per il sostegno personale, le chiacchiere e l’aiuto a crescere. Ho la strana sensazione che potrei essere morto se non ci fossi stato tu e per questo ti vorrò sempre bene e ti sosterrò.

Grazie a Ciara Davy, Michael “Curly” Jobson e all’MJM team, Harry Bird e Charlie Alves per aver reso i miei anni in tour meravigliosi durante il migliore dei periodi e per averli fatti durare nei momenti peggiori. Spero che troveremo il modo di continuare a lavorare insieme.

Grazie a tutti gli artisti, musicisti e autori che mi hanno aiutato a sviluppare musicalmente e personalmente, la lista è lunga ma non c’è nessuno con cui ho lavorato dal quale non ho imparato qualcosa.

Un enorme grazie a tutti i miei amici nell’industria. Grazie a Jesse Waits della XS per essere stato un amico gigantesco e una roccia nei momenti più difficili.

Grazie a tutti quelli che non ho incluso in questo momento. Ci sono state tantissime persone di cui parlare, persone che hanno avuto un impatto su di me, e mi dispiace se mi sto dimenticando di qualcuno.

Ultimo, ma non meno importanti, grazie ad ogni singolo fan che abbia mai comprato un biglietto o sia entrato di straforo, che abbia comprato una canzone o l’abbia scaricata, scritto commenti positivi o odiosi. Sono le vostre idee e pensieri sulla musica che mi hanno aiutato a crescere e vi devo veramente tutto.

La mia strada è stata ricca di successo ma ci sono stati anche i singhiozzi. Sono diventato adulto mentre crescevo come artista, sono arrivato a conoscermi meglio e ho capito che c’è molto che voglio fare nella mia vita. Ho molti interessi in campi differenti ma pochissimo tempo per esplorarli bene.

Due settimane fa mi sono preso del tempo per viaggiare negli States con degli amici e il team, solo per vedere e pensare alle cose in un modo nuovo. Mi ha aiutato a capire che dovevo necessariamente fare quel cambiamento che mi stava distruggendo da un po’.

Le mie scelte e la mia carriera non sono mai state guidate dalle cose materiali, anche se sono grato a tutti per le opportunità e gli agi che il successo mi ha permesso. So che sono fortunato a viaggiare per il mondo e a suoanre, ma ho pochissimo per me, per la vita della persona oltre all’artista.

Non smetterò mai con la musica – continuerò a parlare coi miei fan attraverso di lei, ma ho deciso che questo 2016 sarà l’anno del mio ultimo tour e degli ultimi concerti. Vediamo di finire con un botto!

Una parte di me dice “mai dire mai”, potrei tornare… ma di sicuro non presto.

Thank you for letting me fulfill so many of my dreams. I will be forever grateful to have experienced and accomplished all that I have with the help of the team around me and my beloved fans. Thank you to all my peers in the business for building a new movement that took the world by storm and I was lucky enough to be in the middle of it. Thank you to all my partners through the years who believed in what I have created and wanted to amplify my work to a truly global presence.

First and foremost thank you to my brother and partner Ash, its truly been a crazy run and its only been possible through our collaborative efforts, yin and yang, brother to brother manager to artist. I will always appreciate this road with you no matter where it leads from here. I could write so much more but our journey is far from finished.

My path has been filled with success but it hasn’t come without its bumps. I’ve become an adult while growing as an artist, I’ve come to know myself better and realize that there’s so much I want to do with my life. I have strong interests in different areas but there’s so little time to explore them.

Two weeks ago, I took the time to drive across the U.S. with my friends and team, to just look and see and think about things in a new way. It really helped me realize that I needed to make the change that I’d been struggling with for a while.

My choices and career have never been driven by material things, although I’m grateful for all the opportunities and comforts my success has availed me. I know I am blessed to be able to travel all around the world and perform, but I have too little left for the life of a real person behind the artist.

I will however never let go of music – I will continue to speak to my fans through it, but I’ve decided this 2016 run will be my last tour and last shows. Let’s make them go out with a bang!

One part of me can never say never, I could be back …but I won’t be right back.

Tim Bergling, in arte Avicii, era nato a Stoccolma l’8 settembre del 1989.

Era uno dei DJ più noti sulla scena mondiale. Aveva vinto anche due MTV Music Awards, un Billboard Music Award e conquistato due nomination ai Grammy.

Il suo brano, “Wake me up”, era diventato una hit in tutto il mondo.

Nel corso della sua carriera aveva collaborato con Madonna e i Coldplay.
